Burman Dada used to always think of something different, something new. In case of the song, ‘Honton pe aisi baat daba ke’ from Jewel Thief (), Dada asked the player Sudarshan Adhikari to play with his left hand on khol’s body with his right hand as usual. The experiment was successful, everyone liked the sound and the song was recorded with khol being played that way. The restr rhythm players played in the same way. This new style of playing khol is called ‘chhapki rhythm; which dada introduced for the first time. It is played in that style even now, which dada had introduced. Similarly, Dada created dance song in rhythm (rupak taal), which no one has done before and till today. The song is, ‘Piya tose naina laage re’ from Guide (). Others create dance song on kherwa taal, dadra Rd burman filmography!
